The Interfaculty Centre for Educational Research (ICER) has been founded in 2018 by the Faculty of Human Sciences and Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Bern. Its main purpose is to provide a platform and centre of competence and expertise for conducting interdisciplinary large-scale research projects in the educational domain. In particular, the ICER will be responsible for coordinating the large-scale assessments of skills attainment in Swiss compulsory schools in 2020 and 2022 (the so-called "ÜGK") as well as PISA 2021, in cooperation with the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK).
